For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first edition, early printing paperback copy of The Lover by Marguerite Duras. First Pantheon Paperback Edition stated, 1997 Pantheon. Eleventh Printing with partial number line: 11 13 15 17 19 18 16 14 12. First Edition cover design with photo of the author in 1932 is the same as the hardcover first edition.
The exterior of this paperback edition is in Near Fine condition, with clean, illustrated covers with no creases, clean page blocks, mild surface wear, strong title on a square spine, a tight binding with no spine cracks, strong spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rounded corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with five lines of notes on the inside rear cover and one vertical bracket on page 14. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
