For sale is a Very Good first paperback edition, later printing of Kaddish and Other Poems by Allen Ginsberg. First Edition unstated, 1961 City Lights Books. Twenty-fifth printing, January 1996 is stated on copyright page and a $7.95 back cover price.
The exterior of the paperback edition is in Very Good condition, with clean, bright covers with no creases and a large sticker residue on the back. Also with, mild surface wear, strong title on a sun-darkened spine, light foxing on the page blocks, a tight binding with no creases, lightly rubbed spine ends, moderate to heavy edge wear and rounded and rubbed corners.
The interior of the book is also Very Good, with no marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned.
The lead poem “Kaddish” also known as “Kaddish for Naomi Ginsberg (1894-1956)”, was written in two parts by Allen Ginsberg. In the table of contents, the poem is titled “Kaddish: Proem, narrative, hymmnn, lament, litany, & fugue”. Along with Ginsberg’s “Howl”, “Kaddish” is said to be one of his greatest masterpieces.
