The exterior of the paperback edition is in Near Fine condition, with clean, lightly rubbed boards with no creases. Also, clean page blocks, no spine tilt, lightly rubbed spine ends, mild edge wear and moderate to heavy corner wear. This is NOT the true first edition paperback published by Knopf in 1997 with the Chip Kidd design. This is the 1998 publication pictured here with the John Gall abstract design.

The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with the ghost of an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
