The exterior of the hardcover edition is in Fine condition, with spotless, white boards, very strong silver title gilt, clean page blocks, a tight binding with no creases, no spine tilt, strong spine ends, no edge wear and strong  corners.

The interior of the book is pristine, with no marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, giving a feeling of a brand new book.

The dust jacket is also in Near Fine condition, with mild edge wear, and looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

“Whale Fall” by David Baker is about time, measured in the wingbeats of a hummingbird or the epochs of geological change, and about place, whether a backyard in Ohio or the slopes of a melting glacier. In the exquisite, musical title poem, a deft hybrid of eco-poetic alarm and intimate narrative, Baker transports us to the deep sea as a single gray whale carcass falls, decays, and is re-inhabited by a cosmos of teeming lives.

Don’t miss the opportunity to own this Fine first edition, first printing  of this highly acclaimed book. Thin volume ships promptly in manila envelope with book wrapped in both craft paper and multiple layers of bubble wrap.
