For sale: a Rare and Exceptional second edition, second printing hardcover copy of Under the Sea-wind – A Naturalist’s Picture of Ocean Life by Rachel Carson in a new archival wrap. New Edition stated, 1952 Oxford Press. Second Printing 1952, also stated.
The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright boards, strong ink on the title/graphic design which appears both on the straight spine and the front. The book also features light smudges on page blocks, tight binding, substantial spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and strong corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with the previous owner’s name and date on front paste-down, with an ink stamp below – both hidden by the front flap. No other marks or inscription inside. The interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with price intact, mild surface wear, heavy edge wear, chips and gaps, and looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
