For sale: a Very Rare and Exceptional first hardcover edition, first printing of Travesties by Tom Stoppard in a new  archival wrap. First US Edition unstated, 1975 Grove Press with two ISBN numbers. First Printing stated.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, cloth boards, strong title ink on a straight spine, clean page blocks, tight binding, mild spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions or signs of ownership. The front and rear end papers have uneven toning. The interior pages are clean and lightly toned.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with the $6.95 price on the front flap, moderate surface wear, and mild edge wear. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

1975 Grove Press hardcover, Tom Stoppard (author of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead). Travesties was born out of Stoppard’s noting that in 1917 three of the twentieth century’s most crucial revolutionaries — James Joyce, the Dadaist founder Tristan Tzara, and Lenin – were all living in Zurich.
