First US Edition unstated, 1962 Pantheon. First printing with no subsequent printing and no ISBN number – just the 62-14256 Library of Congress number. This is the first English language translation by Ralph Manheim.
The book is in Very Good condition with bright boards with a few spots on the rear, lightly faded title gilt on the sunned spine, clean page blocks and strong topstain, tight binding, mild spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, . The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition with the ghost of an erased price on the heavily foxed first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The rear end paper has lighter foxing and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild surface and edge wear. First state jacket is price-clipped but retains the 2/63 date on the front flap. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
