For sale: a Rare and Exceptional First hardcover edition, first printing of The Making of the African Queen: Or How I Went to Africa With Bogart, Bacall and Huston and Almost Lost My Mind by Katharine Hepburn. First Edition stated, 1987 Knopf. First Printing with no subsequent printing  and 1987 on both title and copyright pages.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright boards, strong title gilt on a square spine and the facsimile signature on the front,  tight binding, mild spine tilt, rubbed spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright.

The first state dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild surface wear and no price on the front flap as issued and the 9/87 date on the rear flap. Looks great in an archival wrap.
