For Sale is a rare First Edition First Printing hardcover copy of Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler with no dust jacket. This is an ex-Library copy with the rear end paper torn out.
This book was published in 1979 by Dodd, Mead & Company, and First Edition is stated on the copyright page. First Printing is shown in the full number line, 1 through 10.
The hardcover edition is in Very Good condition, with black cloth boards with marks and rubbing, and strong title gilt on the spine. The text blocks are clean, and the binding is tight with no creases. There is a moderate spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and rubbed corners.
The interior of the book contains an attractive paper label on the first free end paper. The rear end paper was removed with some damage to the adjacent paste down. There are no other marks, inscriptions, or other signs from the library. No stamps or writing and the interior pages are clean and bright.
No dust jacket, but looks attractive on the shelf.
