First Edition dust jacket designed by Ben Feder, Inc. No Book Club Edition (BCE) imprint, logo or dimple. The 37L gutter code on page 411 indicates a September 1970 printing.
The book is in Very Good condition with clean, bright boards with a very strong sheen, strong title gilt on the convex spine, clean page blocks, tight binding, mild spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and strong corners. The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition, with an erased note on the back of the half title pageo other marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The interior pages are clean and lightly toned.
The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with the BCE statement cut off from the front flap, heavy surface wear, heavy edge wear and a large tear on the front. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
