For sale: a Rare first hardcover edition, later printing of The Secrets of the Heart A Special Selection by Kahlil Gibran. First Edition unstated, 1970 Philosophical Library. First Printing with no subsequent printing.

The book is in Very Good condition with clean, bright boards with strong title gilt on the lightly faded spine, light foxing on page blocks, tight binding, moderate to heavy spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned.

The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with the $3.95 price crossed out on the front flap, a sunned spine, moderate to heavy surface and edge wear,  which looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap. The jacket is first state with 11 titles on the rear flap.

Selected here, and framed by the author are eleven of the Lebanese mystic’s most inspiring meditations. They range in subect from love and marriage to a forceful statement on the divinity of man.
