For sale: a rare and exceptional first edition, early printing hardcover copy of The Return Of The King: Being the Third Part of The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien with no dust jacket. First Edition described, 1954 George Allem and Unwin. Eighth Impression 1961 stated.
The book is in Good condition with faded boards with light soiling, faded title gilt on the heavily sunned spine and stronger gilt on the front board. Also with, lightly soiled page blocks, tight binding, heavy spine tilt, rolled and rubbed spine ends, heavy edge wear, and rounded and rubbed corners with bare spots. The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition with no marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The map is complete and unmarked and the interior pages are lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
