Presumed Third Printing with 1944 on both copyright and title pages, with the Wartime Conditions only on the dust jacket and not inside the text.
The book is in Very Good with faded boards with touches of sheen present, light title gilt on a sunned spine, toned page blocks, a tight binding, rolled and rubbed spine ends, moderate edge wear and heavily rubbed and rounded corners. No marks or inscriptions inside, but both end papers are unevenly toned with a few spots and a small damp stain on the front paste down. The pages are clean and lightly toned. This is the smaller 250 p. edition, with the Wartime Conditions stamp on the copyright page promising a complete, unabridged standard length edition.
The un-clipped dust jacket is in Good condition with mild surface and heavy edge wear with chips, gaps and tears, and stains on the inner surface. The DJ is a third state with $2.75 price, 4495-43 code and the revised Wartime Conditions stamp with no eagle on the front flap promising a complete, unabridged standard length edition. Very Rare. Looks good in a new Brodart archival wrap.
