For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first illustrated edition, early printing hardcover copy of Treasure Island by Mark Twain. First Edition unstated 1909, with the Harper Brothers imprint on the title page, a 4-line copyright page and no later dates. Early Printing with M N print code on copyright page which indicates a December 1913 print date. Illustrated by W. Hatherell.

The book is in Very Good condition with clean, bright boards with strong color on the front illustration. Also with, faded title gilt on a straight spine which is legible from close. Also with, a tight binding, no spine tilt, rolled and rubbed spine ends, moderate to heavy edge wear, and one rubbed corner with bare spots on the top edge. The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with two one inch tears repaired with acid-neutral tape on the Books by Mark Twain page. Some pages, including the title page have very mild foxing, but most pages are strong and evenly toned. The illustrated end papers are clean and unmarked. The front and rear gutters are strong, and the book is sturdy with toned pages.  All eight full page illustrations are clean and unmarked.  No other marks, inscriptions or other signs of ownership inside.
