For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first hardcover edition, early printing of The Periodic Table by Primo Levi in a new archival wrap.
The book is in Very Good condition with bright boards with a damp stain on the rear, strong title ink on a straight spine, foxed page blocks, tight binding, mild spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with an erased price on the first free end paper and no other marks, inscriptions or signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
The first state dust jacket is in Very Good condition with the $16.95 price on the front flap, and a corresponding stain on the rear cover. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
The Periodic Table is largely a memoir of the years before and after Primo Levi’s transportation from his native Italy to Auschwitz as an anti-Facist partisan and a Jew.
