Description

For sale: a Rare and Exceptional signed first edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Pacific and Other Stories by Mark Helprin in a new archival wrap. First American Edition stated, 2004 Penguin. First Printing with full number line, 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2.

The book is in Near Fine condition with bright boards with a few smudges, strong title gilt on a straight spine,lightly foxed page blocks, tight binding, no spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear and two bumped corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with the author’s signature on the title page with no inscription and the ghost of an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions or signs of ownership inside. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with the price clipped from the front flap, a 3/4″ tear repaired with tape and mild surface and edge wear. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

A new collection of short fiction by the author of Winter’s Tale features sixteen stories that profile such colorful characters as a British paratrooper on a mission behind enemy lines, a teenage Hasidic Jew who joins the 1958 Yankees, a female reservist with the Israeli army searching for love, and a September 11th widow who receives a gift from the contractor working on her apartment.

Ships promptly in a corrugated mailer with book wrapped in both craft paper and multiple layers of bubble wrap.
