For sale: a rare early First Edition Early Print, hardcover copy of The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. First Edition unstated, 1980 Harcourt. Fourth  Printing with D E partial letter line.

The exterior of the book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright boards with a small gilt ISBN number on the rear board and strong title gilt on a cloth spine and front graphic. Also, heavily foxed page blocks, tight binding, mild spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly bumped corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making this an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild surface wear, heavy edge wear and two 1″ tears. First state jacket with $15.95 price on the front flap and ISBN 0-15-144647-4 on the back cover. Looks great in a Brodart archival wrap.
