For sale: a Rare and Exceptional second trade paperback edition, later printing of Tibet’s Great Yogi Milarepa: A Biography from the Tibetan being the Jetsun-Kahbum or Biographical History of Jetsun-Milarepa, According to the Late Lama Kazi Dawa-Samdup’s English Rendering by W. Y. Evans-Wentz. First trade paperback Edition stated, 1969 Simon and Schuster. Fifteenth Printing with partial  number line 20 19 18 17 16 15.

The exterior of this trade paperback edition is in Very Good condition, with clean covers with no creases, mild surface wear, strong title on a square spine, clean page blocks, a tight binding with no creases, lightly rubbed spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions, or signs of ownership. The inside covers and the interior pages are clean and moderately toned.

This reissue of the fascinating biography of Milarepa–the great Tibetan religious leader who lived over 800 years ago–completes Evans-Wentz’s four-volume Tibetan series. In his preface to the second edition of this work, which first appeared in 1958, Evans-Wentz focuses on the similarities between the life and teachings of Milarepa and the greatest of modern India’s spiritual leaders, Mahatma Ghandhi. The late Lama Kazi Dawa-Samdup–who served as Evans-Wentz’s Tibetan guru for many years–has provided a translation from the original Tibetan which reveals to Western readers how one of India’s great teachers actually lived.
