Description

For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first hardcover edition, first printing of McSweeney’s Issue 20 by Susan Steinberg, Kevin Moffett, Ben Jahn, Tony D’Souza, J. Erin Sweeney and others. First Edition unstated, 2006 McSweeney’s Books. First Printing with no subsequent printing.  Full-color illustrations by various artists.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, illustrated boards with a wrap-around design, strong title ink on a straight spine, clean page blocks, tight binding, mild spine tilt, strong spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rounded corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright. Missing the 50 page insert.

No dust jacket as issued.

Every fourth page is a full-color figurative painting, each one by an excellent artist.  The other pages have fiction on them, with only one color but lots of words including punched, pants, and Puerto — that’s actually just the first page. After that, there are stories exploring animal-plant romances, psycho librarians, and passive-agressive ventriloquism. This is an attractive issue, brimming with fulfilling things.

Ships promptly in a secure mailer with book wrapped in both craft paper and bubble wrap
