For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first paperback edition, first printing of McSweeney’s Issue 12 by Rachel Sherman, Roddy Doyle, Jimmy Rabbitte and others. First Edition unstated, 2003 McSweeney’s Books. First Printing with no subsequent printing.

The exterior of this paperback edition is in Near Fine condition, with clean, illustrated covers with one corner crease, clean page blocks, mild surface wear, strong title on a straight spine, a tight binding with no spine cracks, lightly rubbed spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rounded corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

Issue 12 is made up Twelve new stories from twelve new writers, unpublished, unknown, or unbelievable. Plus twenty-nine stories written in twenty minutes each. And a story by Roddy Doyle. The cover’s french flaps unfold partway, and with the book standing upright, reveals two eye-sized holes that the reader can look through to experience some hippo related, magic eye-style fun.
