Description

For sale: a rare first edition, later printing hardcover copy of Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov in a matching dust jacket protected in a new archival wrap. First Edition unstated, 1955 G. P. Putnam’s. Eleventh Impression stated.

The exterior of the book is in Good condition with with water damage to the cloth quarter wrap on the front board and a larger area on the back. Also, strong title gilt on an unstained spine, a light 1″ stain on top page blocks, tight binding, no  spine tilt, rolled spine ends, heavy bumps to the bottom edges, and two rounded corners. The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with the previous owner’s bookplate on FEP with date inked above it on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Good condition with the same water damage and a 1″ missing piece from the spine top. Matching early state jacket is also marked Eleventh Printing. Looks pretty good in new Brodart archival wrap.
