The book is in Very Good condition with clean boards with mild fading at edges, a straight spine, tight binding, no spine tilt, strong spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright.
The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild surface wear and the price price cut off the front flap.
In his wood engravings, Barry Moser depicts the inhabitants and sights of the 1872 sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland which finds Carroll’s inquisitive heroine Alice in a fantastic land where everything is reversed. Alice encounters talking flowers, madcap kings and queens, and becomes a pawn in a bizarre chess game involving Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and other amusing nursery-rhyme characters.
