For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first edition, early printing hardcover copy of Der Kleine Prinz by Antoine de St Exupery with an un-clipped dust jacket. First Edition unstated, 1950 Karl Rauch Verlag. First Printing with no subsequent printing.
The book is in Near Fine condition with lightly foxed boards, strong title ink on a straight spine, some light marks on the page blocks, tight binding, mild spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and two bumped corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with the German publisher’s small stamp on the lightly foxed front paste down. No other marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned. Two WW2-era postcards from the publisher are wrapped in an archival wrap.
The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with moderate surface wear, heavy edge wear, and no price on the front flap as issued. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
