Features seven full page color illustrations of the costume desoigns by Robin Archer from Nottingham Playhouse production of King John in 1968.
Fine hardcover with spotless, dark blue, cloth-covered boards, bright gilt author’s initials and title on spine and a two-color design of seven feathers on the front board. Also, clean page blocks, no spine tilt, strong spine ends, no edge wear, and strong corners.
No dust jacket as issued. Very Good slipcase with heavy edge wear and clean, marbled exterior, paper covers.
The Life and Death of King John, a history play by William Shakespeare, dramatises the reign of John, King of England, the son of Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine and the father of Henry III of England. It is believed to have been written in the mid-1590s, but it was not published until 1623, when it appeared in the First Folio.
