For sale: a Rare and Exceptional Book Club edition hardcover copy of Hiroshima by John Hersey with no dust jacket.
The exterior of the book is in Good condition with unevenly faded boards with mild rubbing, strong title ink on the front board, and the lightly sunned spine. The spine ends are rolled with heavy wear and fraying. Also with toned page blocks, a strong binding, mild spine tilt, moderate edge wear, and rubbed and rounded corners with bare spots. The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with the previous owner’s name on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions or other signs of ownership inside. The rear end paper and paste downs are clean with strong gutters. The interior pages are clean and moderately toned, making it a good addition to any collection.
Hiroshima is a 1946 book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Hersey. It tells the stories of six survivors of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. It regarded as one of the earliest examples of the New Journalism, in which the story-telling techniques of fiction are adapted to non-fiction reporting.
