Description

For sale: a Rare and Exceptional reprint edition, first printing hardcover copy of Have Space Suit – Will Travel by Robert A. Heinlein. First Edition unstated, 1958 Scribner’s. Early Printing with J-1.67 [V] print code.

The book is in Very Good condition with clean, illustrated boards with only three visible signs of being a Library book: a Heinlein label on the dust jacket spine, the removal of the rear end paper and a neatly blacked out marker hiding the Library name and date on the title page. Otherwise this is a clean copy published in the illustrated covers that mimic the first issue cover design by Ed Emshwiller. Also with, strong title ink on a creased spine, clean page blocks, tight binding, heavy spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with the crossed out name  on the title page previously mentioned. The rear end paper was removed and the exposed page 278 has tape stains and cuts from the removal process. The front paste down and end paper is nicely illustrated. No other marks, inscriptions, or signs inside. The interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with the paper label of the author’s last name on the spine and a publisher’s banner marked Scribner’s Library Binding  that span onto the front cover design. First state jacket with the price on the front flap, moderate surface wear, and mild edge wear.

Kip from midwest Centerville USA works the summer before college as a pharmacy soda jerk, and wins an authentic stripped-down spacesuit in a soap contest. He answers a distress radio call from Peewee, scrawny rag doll-clutching genius aged 11. With the comforting cop Mother Thing, three-eyed tripod Wormfaces kidnap them to the Moon and Pluto.

Ships promptly in a secure mailer with book wrapped in both craft paper and bubble wrap.
