For sale: a Rare and Exceptional newer printing Leather Bound Collector’s Edition of Hard Times: For These Times  by Charles Dickens. Easton Press, 1967. Bound in genuine leather with gilt accents, 22kt gold page edges and a hubbed spine. Smyth sewn, interior with moire end papers, acid-neutral paper (won’t yellow or become brittle over time) and a silk ribbon page marker. Illustrated by Charles Raymond. Includes 4-page publisher’s notes.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright boards with strong gilt accents, clean gilt page blocks, no spine tilt, strong spine ends, no edge wear and strong corners. Silk moire paste downs are clean with no bookplate. Ribbon appears to be moved from original position. No marks or inscriptions inside. Pages clean and bright.

No dust jacket, as issued.

Hard Times: For These Times is the tenth novel by Charles Dickens, first published in 1854. The book surveys English society and satirises the social and economic conditions of the era. Hard Times is unusual in several ways. It is by far the shortest of Dickens’s novels.
