For sale: a Rare and Exceptional newer printing Leather Bound Collector’s Edition of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Easton Press, 1979. Bound in genuine leather with gilt accents, 22kt gold page edges and a hubbed spine. Smyth sewn, interior with moire end papers, acid-neutral paper (won’t yellow or become brittle over time) and a silk ribbon page marker.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright boards with strong gilt accents, clean gilt page blocks, no spine tilt, strong spine ends, no edge wear and strong corners. Silk moire paste downs are clean with no bookplate. Ribbon appears to be in original position. No marks or inscriptions inside. Pages clean and bright.

No dust jacket, as issued.

Over the course of the tale, in which Pip encounters such famous characters as Miss Havisham, Herbert Pocket and Joe Gargery, he comes to realise that his money is tainted and the girl he loves will not return his affections; happiness must be found in the things he gave up in pursuit of a more sophisticated life.
