For sale is a Very Good paperback edition, first printing of The Fortunate Traveller by Derek Walcott. First Paperback Edition stated, 1981 Farrar, Straus & Giroux. First Printing with no subsequent printing.
The exterior of the paperback edition is in Very Good condition, with clean, bright covers with heavy curling on front, but no creases. Also, mild surface wear, strong title on a straight spine, foxed page blocks, a tight binding with no cracks, strong spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rounded corners.
The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition, with the ghost of an erased price on the first page. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The inside covers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned.
Derek Walcott has for some time been recognized as one of the most accomplished and resourceful poets writing in English. This volume of his work, which contains such poems as “Olde New England” and “Piano Practice” cements this reputation.
