Description

For sale: a rare and exceptional second edition, later printing of The Fellowship Of The Ring: Being the First Part of The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. Second Edition stated on title page, 1987 Houghton Mifflin. 34th Printing with partial number line 40 39 38 37 36 35 34. Jacket design by Alan Lee.

The book is in Near Fine condition with bright boards with a few marks on the back, strong title ink on the spine and front cover design, clean page blocks, tight binding, no spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The rear end paper and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with the price present on a creased front flap, and mild surface and edge wear.  Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
