For sale: a rare and exceptional first edition, early printing hardcover copy of The Fellowship Of The Ring: Being the First Part of The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien with no dust jacket. First Edition described, 1954 George Allen and Unwin. Tenth Impression 1961 stated.
The book is in Good condition with faded boards with light soiling, faded title gilt on the heavily sunned spine and stronger gilt on the front board. Also with, soiled page blocks, tight binding, heavy spine tilt, lightly rolled and rubbed spine ends, heavy edge wear, and rounded corners. The interior of the book is also in Good condition with a coffee stain on the first free end paper that also splashed on the side page block. No other marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The map is complete and unmarked and the interior pages are lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
