For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first edition, later printing, hardcover copy of Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. Second Edition unstated, 1939 Scribner. First Printing unstated with the Scribner colophon and no letter on the copyright page. The first revised edition from Scribner includes the rare introduction from the author.

The exterior of the book is in Very Good condition with clean, cloth boards with light marks and a strong sheen. The spine is lightly sunned with a strong title and author ink, and the front board has a strong title. Also with clean page blocks,  a moderate spine tilt, rolled and rubbed spine ends, moderate to heavy edge wear, and lightly rounded and rubbed  corners.  The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with the previous owner’s name and date on the front paste down. No other marks, inscriptions or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers and interior pages are clean and lightly toned.
