Fair hardcover with green cloth with heavy wear, mild top edge gold gilt, corners bumped and rubbed, and the top spine ends eroded. FEP was roughly removed, resulting in cracking and separation of front hinge. Rear hinge is now also cracked. Previous owner’s name across from Contents.The inside pages are clean, supple and lightly toned. Looks good on a shelf with decent gilt to “Emerson’s Essays” at the top, “First Series” middle, but not the publisher’s name at the bottom. Ships promptly in corrugated mailer with book wrapped in both craft paper and multiple layers of bubble wrap.
