For sale is a rare first Book Club edition of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, with no dust jacket. Book of the Month Club (BOMC) edition, 1949 Viking with W print code on copyright page and 1949 on the title page. Second Printing Before Publication stated and no gutter code.
The exterior of the book is in Very Good condition, with lightly faded boards with a small stain on the front and the BOMC dimple and a slightly larger stain on the back. Also, strong title ink on a sunned spine, foxed page blocks, a tight binding, heavy spine tilt, frayed spine ends, heavy edge wear and rounded and rubbed . The interior of the book is in Very Good condition with moderate to heavy underlining and margin brackets. The illustrated end papers and the interior pages are lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

It is a two-act tragedy set in late 1940s Brooklyn told through a montage of memories, dreams, and arguments of the protagonist Willy Loman, a traveling salesman.
