The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright cloth boards, strong title gilt on a square spine, an X marked on bottom page block, tight binding, mild spine tilt, rolled and rubbed spine ends, heavy bottom edge wear, and rubbed corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild surface and edge wear, and the price intact on the rear. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
Full-color photographs highlight Wharton’s account of her three-month 1888 cruise aboard a chartered yacht through the Aegean Islands, in an anthology of writings that includes the author’s detailed descriptions of the places she visited, the people she met, and the hotels in which she stayed.
