For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first edition THUS, first printing hardcover copy of The Complete Sylvie and Bruno (Mercury House Neglected Literary Classics) by Lewis Carroll in a new archival wrap. Edition unstated, 1991 Mercury House. First Printing with no subsequent printing. Illustrated By Renee Flower.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright boards, clean page blocks, a strong title on a straight spine spine, , tight binding, mild spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the half title page. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The illustrated end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild surface wear and a moderate edge wear, and the price on the front flap. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

This special edition includes the complete text of Sylvie and Bruno, first published in 1889, and its second volume Sylvie and Bruno Concluded published in 1893, which was the last novel by Lewis Carroll published during his lifetime. Both volumes were illustrated by Harry Furniss. The novel has two main plots: one set in the real world at the time the book was published (the Victorian era), the other in the fantasy world of Fairyland.
