For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first hardcover edition, first printing of The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson by Emily Dickinson in a new archival wrap. First Edition published, July 1924 Little Brown. First Printing with 1924 on both title and copyright pages.
Near Fine hardcover with clean, cloth boards with just a hint of rubbing, mild foxing on page blocks, mild spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rubbed corners. Gilt letters are very strong on both the front title/graphic and the spine. Top gilt very strong, as well. Both front and rear hinges are strong and the binding is very strong. No inscription on the end papers, but several lengthy ones are on the half-title and table of contents. Some of the poems are marked with single and/or double check marks. Inside pages are strong, supple, clean and surprisingly bright.

Very rare, very early collection of The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson with an Introduction by her niece Martha Dickinson Bianchi. The first 1924 printing by Little, Brown, and Company of Boston, Massachusetts consists of only 2,000 copies. The volume has green diagonal-rib-grain cloth, with gold stamping on front and spine, no decoration on back and a top gilt. It also includes a sepia tone portrait of the poet. A second printing was released in 1926, followed by a third printing in 1929. Both of these retained the same copyright page, but included the later date on the title page. The collection includes 593 of Dickinson’s poems, grouped in five units: Part Life Part Nature Part Love Part Time and Eternity Part The Single Hound.
