For sale: a Rare and Exceptional later paperback edition, early printing of A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. Paperback Edition unstated, 1986 Norton. Seventh Printing with partial number line.

The book exterior is in Very Good condition with clean, bright boards, some smudges on page blocks, mild edge wear, lightly rubbed spine ends, heavy corner wear and two creases. Straight spine and tight binding.  The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with no marks, inscriptions or signs of ownership inside. The inside covers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

Adrift in the impersonal, iron-gray society of the superstate, the novel’s main character, 15-year-old Alex, leads his gang of teenage rockers in all night orgies of random violence and destruction. This is Alex’s story- of rapes and stompings and rumbles with the police, of prison life and the frightful “Ludovico Technique” by which Alex is “reconditioned” into a model citizen, and of his subsequent adventures as a mindless pawn in the cynical hands of the authorities.
