For sale is a Fine hardcover 60th Anniversary Book Club Edition, of The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, in a Near Fine dust jacket, protected in a new archival wrap. The book is a Little Brown First Edition unstated, with 1951 and the publisher’s name only on the title page, the author’s 1951 copyright on the copyright page and no subsequent dates or printings and no Book Club Edition statement. Inset is the 8-page BOMC 60th Anniversary Edition pamphlet.
The exterior of this hardcover edition is in excellent condition. The black boards are spotless with the small book club dimple on the back board. The title gilt is very strong, and the top page blocks has very mild foxing. The binding is tight with no creases or spine tilt, while the spine ends are strong. There is no edge wear and the corners are straight and sharp.. Inside the book is in pristine unread condition, with no marks, inscriptions, or any other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright.
