For sale: a Rare and Exceptional first combined edition, first printing hardcover copy of The Castle and The Trial by Franz Kafka in a new archival wrap. Book Club Edition unstated, with Knopf Definitive Edition March 1954 stated on the copyright page and the Knopf imprint on both the title page and dust jacket spine.
The book is in Very Good condition with bright, cloth boards with mild damp stains on both boards. Also with lightly faded title ink on a straight spine, lightly soiled page blocks, tight binding, no spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, . The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition with the ghost of an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The rear end page and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
The dust jacket is in Poor condition with mild toning, heavy surface and edge wear, several gaps, and no price on the front flap, as issued. Looks good in a new Brodart archival wrap.
Ships promptly in corrugated mailer with book wrapped in both craft paper and multiple layers of bubble wrap.
