Description

For sale: a Rare and Exceptional signed first edition, first printing hardcover copy of Blues for Mister Charlie by James Baldwin. First Edition unstated, 1964 Dial Press.  First Printing with 1964 on both title and copyright pages and no subsequent printing.

The book is in Near Fine condition with clean,cloth boards with mild fading at edges, strong title ink on the straight spine and the facsimile signature on the front board. Also, clean page blocks, tight binding, moderate spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and one bumped corner. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with no other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers are lightly foxed and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Good/Very Good condition with the $3.95 price present  on the front flap, moderate to heavy surface wear and heavy edge wear and two gaps on the rear. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
