For sale: a rare and exceptional first edition, first printing hardcover copy of As You Desire Me (Come Tu Mi Vuoi): A Play in Three Acts by Luigi Pirandello with no dust jacket. Nobel Prize Edition stated, November 1934, Dutton. First Printing with no subsequent printing.
The book is in Very Good condition with clean, bright boards with a few scuff marks. Cloth on boards still has a pattern present and a bit of sheen. The binding is strong with no hinge cracks. Also with a straight spine, moderately foxed page blocks, no spine tilt, rubbed spine ends, moderate edge wear and rubbed corners. Paper title label on spine is toned with mild edge wear, and lightly faded ink that presents a clearly legible title and full author name.
The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition with the previous owner’s name and date on the first free end paper. Small, period bookseller label is also on the ffep with light transfer mark on front paste down. No other marks, inscriptions or signs of ownership inside. The end papers and title pages are lightly foxed and the interior pages are clean, strong, supple and lightly toned. Looks great on the shelf.
