For sale is a rare and exceptional single song sheet music in a carded archival sleeve. Aquarius, from the American Tribal Love-Rock Musical HAIR. Published by United Artists Music in 1969. Words by James Rado, Gerome Ragni and Music by Galt McDermot. Piano, and 4-part Vocals – SATB. 14 pages with strong seams. 35 cent cover price with a rear cover featuring an ad for sheet music from the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Aquarius is the opening number in the stage musical Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical with a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The work reflects the creators’ observations of the hippie counterculture and sexual revolution of the late 1960s, and several of its songs became anthems of the anti-Vietnam War movement.

The front cover is in Very Good condition, with moderate wear on the front cover, two creases, no tears and lightly rounded corners with a seam repaired with pH-neutral tape. The interior is in Very Good condition with three complete bi-folds with seams intact. No marks or inscriptions. Pages lightly toned.
