The exterior of the book is in Very Good condition with clean, terracotta, cloth boards with a surprisingly strong sheen. Also with, a strong gilt on the title and facsimile signature on the front board. The spine is heavily sunned with a lightly faded title and author gilt that is clearly legible on a shelf. The top spine end is missing two-thirds of the cloth. The bottom spine end is present, but completely rolled and rubbed bare. The page blocks are clean and lightly toned with a strong top stain. The binding is tight with no spine tilt, moderate edge wear, and rounded and rubbed corners.
The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition with the ghosts of erased prices on the first free end paper and front paste down. No other marks, inscriptions or other signs of ownership inside. The rear end paper and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

This omnibus edition was published by John Murray, London in 1929 while the author was still living.
