For sale is a first edition, first printing hardcover copy of Native Son by Richard Wright preserved in a new archival wrap, which will protect the book for years to come. First Edition stated, 1940 Harper and Brothers. First Printing with 1940 on both Title and Copyright pages and A-P code.
The exterior of the book is in Very Good condition with bright boards with spots, lightly foxed page blocks, strong title gilt on spine and front cover, rolled spine ends, heavy edge wear and bumped and rubbed corners. The interior of the book is also in Very Good condition with the ghost of an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside. The end papers are unevenly toned and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned, making it an excellent addition to any collection.
Good first state dust jacket, with heavy edge wear, chips and gaps on both spine ends. Looks good in a new Brodart archival wrap.
