The book is in Very Good  condition with clean, lightly faded boards, strong title ink on a concave spine, some marks on lightly foxed page blocks, tight binding, heavy spine tilt, rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with one inked name on the first free end paper and another on the front paste down. No other marks, inscriptions, or signs of ownership inside. The rear end paper and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

Interspersed throughout his mother’s compelling narrative, McBride shares candid recollections of his own experiences as a mixed-race child of poverty, his flirtations with drugs and violence, and his eventual self- realization and professional success. The Color of Water touches readers of all colors as a vivid portrait of growing up, a haunting meditation on race and identity, and a lyrical valentine to a mother from her son.

Ships promptly in corrugated mailer with book wrapped in both craft paper and multiple layers of bubble wrap.
