The book is in Near Fine condition with spotless, illustrated boards, strong title ink on a straight spine with no publisher’s imprint anywhere on the book. The book is in unread condition, but the binding is starting to separate from the spine. Also with, clean page blocks, tight binding, no spine tilt, strong spine ends, no edge wear, and strong corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with the ghost of an erased price and a 1.5″ round ink stamp from the previous owner on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership inside, but one page is creased with a torn page end. The interior pages are clean and bright. Despite these flaws, the book is very clean and strong, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

No dust jacket, as issued.

Amygdala is a story of animals, born to a world of swirling, fractal chaos, who learned the art of civilization. Their government was forged in fire, ruled only by the objective truth of all things, with no room for incompetence, mercy, or even morality. Their city, ‘The Underbirth’, holds within it the greatest collection of animal minds, born of mechanical systems designed to test everything: natural, cultural, industrial selection. Their art is beguiling, their science boundless, their bodies strong and lean and perfect.

And yet, amidst the beauty of a culture ruled by absolute competence, some begin to ask: what is the cost of civilization? When do animals stop being animals? Is there another way?

Ships promptly in a manila envelope with book wrapped in both craft paper and multiple layers of bubble wrap.
