For sale: a rare and exceptional first UK hardcover edition, first printing of Telephone Poles and Other Poems by John Updike in an archival wrap. First Edition stated, 1964 Andre Deutsch. First Printing, with no subsequent printing.
The book is in Near Fine condition with clean, bright, cloth boards with and strong title gilt on a straight spine, a tight binding, mild spine tilt, rubbed spine ends, clean page blocks, mild edge wear, and lightly rubbed corners. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the first free end paper and no other marks, inscriptions or signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and lightly toned.
The dust jacket is In Very Good condition with mild surface and heavy edge wear. The price is cut from the front flap of the dust jacket, which is first state and looks great in a paperless archival wrap.
