For sale: a rare and exceptional First US hardcover Edition described, first printing of The Gods of the Celts by Miranda Green.  First Edition stated, 2003 Barnes and Noble. First Printing with no subsequent printing. Profusely illustrated in black and white photos.

The exterior of the book is in Very Good condition with clean boards with a band of uneven shading at the bottom of the front board. Also, strong title gilt on a straight spine, clean page blocks, tight binding, no spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and one heavily bumped corner. The interior of the book is also in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the first free end paper. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The rear end paper and the interior pages are clean and bright, making this an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with mild mild surface and edge wear, and no price on the front flap, as issued. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

This sourcebook on the Celts and their religions covers all aspects of the gods, ritual customs, cult-objects and sacred places. It introduces the Celts, describes the geographical and chronological scope of the book and examines the nature of the evidence. Further chapters cover the various cults of sun and sky, mother-goddesses and fertility, war, death and the underworld, water gods and healers, animals and animism and, finally, symbolism and imagery.
