For sale: a rare and exceptional first hardcover edition, first printing of Making Mischief: A Maurice Sendak Appreciation by Gregory Maguire. First Edition stated, 2009 Wm. Morrow Books. First Printing with complete number line, 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1.

The book is in Fine condition with clean, bright, illustrated boards, clean page blocks, strong title ink on a convex spine, tight binding, mild spine tilt, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear, and strong corners. The interior of the book is in Near Fine condition with an erased price on the half title page. No other marks, inscriptions, or other signs of ownership. The end papers and the interior pages are clean and bright, making it an excellent addition to any collection.

The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with the price present on the front flap, and mild  surface wear and mild edge wear. First state jacket with $27.50 price and 0909 date code on front flap, looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

Lavishly illustrated with Maurice Sendak’s creations, Making Mischief is based on a symposium on Maurice Sendak’s work which Gregory Maguire presented in 2003. He gives the reader a whole new appreciation of Maurice Sendak as an artist.
